One of Czech Holidays, celebreiting in October is the Czechoslovak Independence Day - on October 28, 1918, Czechoslovak independence was declared on Wenceslas Square, beginning a new era for Czechoslovakia (now: Czech Republic and Slovak Republic) which had previously been part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
