Castle Tratzberg is a Renaissance perl among Austria’s castles such as : Porcia Castle, Rosenburg, Palace Hof,Starkenberg castle, Altenhof Castle, etc. Castle Tratzberg was documented for the first time in the 13th century and it was used as border against the Bavarians and also it was used as Emperor Maximilian’s hunting lodge. But, in the late 15th century the former fortress was destroyed by fire. After fire, the Castle was rebuild several times and thanks to the family’s dedication and efforts , Castle Tratzberg became a gem of a 16th century Tyrolean castle . It is now one of the most important cultural monuments of the country and it is open to the public. We welcome you in Austria during your Europe travel!
